About Us

Rob Mills, Licensed Acupuncturist
Rob Mills has been practicing Acupuncture and herbalism since 1998. He is a graduate of the Five Branches Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz, California. A native of the San Francisco bay area, he moved to Bend, Oregon with his wife Donna Stancil in 2001.

Having previously owned and operated two conventional style acupuncture clinics, he has seen the need for an affordable path to acupuncture over the years. He and his partner Donna share in the conviction that medicine and money represent a conflict of interest on some level and that more needs to be done so that everyone has access to healthcare. Following in the footsteps of the Working Class Acupuncture clinic in Portland, Oregon, Rob hopes to grow his vision of accessible Chinese Medicine in central Oregon.

Rob is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys snow sports, mountain biking, camping and hiking. His love for community and the martial arts is expressed through this involvement with Bend Aiki Martial Arts. He can be found most nights at home, in the kitchen pursuing his passion of cooking for his wife and friends.

About the Pine Cone on the Homepage

The pine cone is that of a Coast Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii subsp. menziesii), which is Oregon’s official state tree. Although it is not native to Bend or Central Oregon, it has a special significance to BCA’s founder Rob Mills because the story of the Douglas-fir coincides with Rob’s life and the purpose of Bend Community Acupuncture. More will be written on these associations in the future. The following are the basic connections: The picture was taken by Jamie and Judy Wild who are photographers and residence of the Northwest.
